Project Linus

From the Project Linus website:

As Charles Schulz’s Linus character from the PEANUTS® comic strip was comforted by his blanket, Project Linus strives to do the same and more for children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. Our nearly 400 chapter coordinators collect quilts/blankets from thousands of “blanketeers” (volunteers) across the United States and then distribute these to children to provide love, a sense of security, warmth, and comfort.

Anyone who would like to may drop off at the shop finished quilts to be donated to Project Linus. Quilts will be accepted through June 15th and then donated in honor of Jamie's 3 year old niece who has been in the hospital since January and received a Project Linus blanket for comfort during her hospital stay.

Two quilts have already been brought in.

If you are looking for some free patterns to use to make charity quilts the Project Linus website has a patterns/links page which would be a good place to start. I also posted a free pattern for the Lattice Quilt on my Alamosa Quilter blog.
